Chief Advisor and Mentor
C.P. Mohan (PRM 01 batch of IRMA, graduated in 1980) is development finance professional with over 37 years of senior-level experience across cooperative, private, non-profit, public, and multilateral institutions. Mohan has worked with major national and international institutions such as GCMMF, NABARD, NABFINS, World Bank Group, and FAO from grassroots to policy level positions. Among many of his achievements, a key highlight is his role in the establishment of NABFINS as a vibrant national rural financial institution, as its Managing Director. He was closely associated with international organizations such as the World Bank Group and FAO as a technical specialist in Agri banking/finance and served in Boards of several development/microfinance institutions. At the policy level, his contributions to important committees such as the Reserve Bank’s Khan Committee are well acknowledged. Mohan considers the teachings of Dr. Kurien and the great concept of IRMA as sources of inspiration for him to walk the extra mile in his endeavors. He considers his ability to leverage opportunities, approach problems from a wider and unconventional perspective, and to remain relevant as important elements of his success. Throughout his inspiring journey, he has earned a place of acknowledgment and respect among his colleagues due to his leadership and people skills. He continues to be an inspiring mentor to several IRMANs and others as he believes that our country belongs to the youth and in their immense potential. In addition to the PGDRM, Mohan holds a BSc (Ag. & AH) degree from GBPUAT, Pantnagar and is a Chartered Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
